Even though I’m still technically injured, I’m not singing the broken-runner blues anymore.
Brian Metzler is a longtime running journalist and author who has founded and contributed to numerous media organizations. He is the author of Kicksology: The Hype, Science, Culture and Cool of Running Shoes (VeloPress, 2019) and co-author of several other books. He regularly runs on the track, roads and trails, has wear-tested more than 1,500 running shoes, completed four-time Ironman triathlons and numerous ultra-distance events, including the 2018 Leadman series.
